Neil Lennon has slammed the "unacceptable" postponement of Sunday's Scottish Premiership clash between Dundee and Rangers. 

The Dens Park pitch was deemed unplayable by referee Don Robertson, due to heavy rainfall in the area. But Lennon reckons more could've been done to prevent yet another Dundee home match being called off this season. 

The SPFL confirmed today that an investigation will be conducted after Rangers boss Philippe Clement expressed his concerns over the communication surrounding the call-off. 

It now leaves his side playing catchup in the league as the title race goes down to the final weeks, something Lennon has empathy for.

"I think it's unacceptable in 2024 that you've got a Premier League game called off for a waterlogged pitch," the former Hibernian and Celtic manager told PLZ Soccer.

"Philippe makes some pertinent points, you'd be going into that game all the energy and thought processes. You roll up to the stadium ready to play and you're told the game's cancelled.

"It's not good enough and there should be an investigation into this and an explanation as to why. It rains everywhere, Scotland of all places, we get a lot of rain up here. 

"But surely we should have the resources now to deal with it."
