Former Celtic winger Aiden McGeady reckons the momentum is back in the Hoops' favour following Rangers late call-off against Dundee.

Celtic had been in pole position from the first weekend of the Scottish Premiership campaign, but come mid-February Rangers finally found themselves at the summit. Philippe Clement's Gers went the entire month unbeaten and ended up two points in front.

However, as we go into the international break, Celtic lead the league standings once again, this time by a single point, after Rangers trip to face Dundee was called off on Sunday. While Celtic managed to secure a 3-1 home victory versus St Johnstone 24 hours earlier.

McGeady, who was at Parkhead between 2002 and 2010, thinks the fact Celtic already have the points on board could be crucial with bottom club Livingston up next.

Rangers on the other hand will have to fit the rescheduled Dundee game into an already hectic fixture schedule and host an improved Hibernian side in two week’s time.

Speaking on BBC's Scottish Football Podcast, McGeady said: "It's funny how momentum can shift very quickly in the league and in this city. You go back two weeks and then all of a sudden momentum maybe seems to be back in Celtic's favour.

"People might argue with that, but with the [Rangers] game being called off [on Sunday] and then Celtic have Livingston - who you'd expect them to beat - next week.

"You've got Rangers trying to possibly cram in a fixture between the Hibs and the Celtic games. Things can change very quickly.

"But Celtic played well yesterday. I always understand when you come in a new team it's difficult to hit the ground running, especially if you're coming from a foreign league, but Nicolas Kuhn done well, cut inside and showed a good bit of technique.

"It was kind of like the Kyogo of old. I think Kyogo's been missing that this season. Crosses and first-time crosses and he's always been there. His movement's always been there to be free in the box, but it's good to see him scoring."
