Lewis Ferguson admits it would be a "dream" to play for Bologna in the Champions League.

The ex-Aberdeen star joined the Serie A side in the summer of 2022 and has thrived in Italy.

Bologna currently sit in fifth place, just two points behind Fiorentina, which would place them in the UEFA Conference League.

However, Ferguson feels the club have a much higher ceiling.

Speaking to Corriere di Bologna, he said: "It would be wonderful to make the Champions League with Bologna, but I don't want to look too far ahead. I want to play at higher levels for as long as possible and for now I'm doing well, but I can still improve. Premier League?

"One day I'll play there, but I feel good in Bologna, I'm happy and I want the best here.

"I think we can do it, there are possibilities. We have quality, we have a good mentality and the coach is a perfectionist.

"Now we have to get results in the next games because playing well is important but we also need results. We have lost only against two big teams since last year?

"We are aware of our strength and we believe in ourselves. To get results against the big teams we need great performances.
