Charlie Mulgrew took to social media to thank the Celtic support as he headed south to Blackburn Rovers yesterday afternoon.

The Scotland internationalist had been training at Lennoxtown after his contract expired in June. There was never any real suggestion that Mulgrew would remain at the club under Brendan Rodgers, but he formally signed off by showing his appreciation to the Parkhead fans.

Mulgrew made 203 appearances in his second spell at the club, helping Celtic to five league titles, two Scottish Cups, a League Cup and some memorable European nights.
