WES FODERINGHAM is determined to send the Rangers fans home happy from Hampden after seeing the Light Blue legions celebrate at Ibrox this week.

The keeper joined his Gers team-mates in a lap of honour in the aftermath of the 1-0 win over Dumbarton on Tuesday night that clinched the Championship title.

It was a moment to remember for Mark Warburton and his players and one to savour for the Ibrox crowd as Rangers ensured they will play Premiership football once again next term.

Next on the agenda for the Gers is the Petrofac Training Cup final this weekend as they look to secure another medal ahead of the Old Firm showdown next Sunday.

And Foderingham admits the backing from a huge Light Blues support will be an extra motivation for Warburton’s side as they bid for cup glory.

He told rangers.co.uk: “I’m delighted. This is obviously my first season, and to win silverware in my first season is special.

"The reason I came here was to win titles, and hopefully we can push on from here.

“To see the scenes at the end, walking round the pitch and seeing how much it means to the supporters was a special moment.

“We still have the opportunity to win two more trophies this season, and hopefully we can go out on Sunday and win another cup.

“It was massive and gave us the platform to win the game.

“We will enjoy the moment, but we have a big game coming up on Sunday. We need to make sure we rest properly and train hard for the upcoming games.

“On Sunday, I’m sure it will feel like a home game with that number of supporters in attendance. They will be vocal as they were last night and will hopefully play their part in helping us to victory.”
