RANGERS could take the final step of The Journey and win the Championship title tomorrow and, if it does happen at Stark’s Park, it will be a moment to savour for the manager, players, fans and everyone at the club.

Victory over Raith Rovers, coupled with a Hibernian slip-up at St Mirren, will clinch the league for Mark Warburton's side and confirm Rangers' place in the Premiership next season.

It has been a tough few years for Rangers, there is no doubt about that. But, on and off the park, we are on the right track and promotion will be another important step.

This is the most significant thing to happen for Rangers for four years and we will be back in the top flight again next season.

That is why such a big deal will be made about it, and rightly so.

For the players who have stuck by the club through it all, like Lee Wallace and Barrie McKay, it will mean so much to them.

But it is for the fans and the people from the club who have been on the road with Rangers as well.

This will be a really big moment for them. They will see Rangers back where they belong.

There were massive crowds at Ibrox in the Third Division and the fans have stuck by their club home and away all the way through the leagues.

For the supporters, this is a really significant achievement.

They have suffered so much in the last few years, they have seen their club take so many blows from so many people, but now Rangers will be back in the top tier of Scottish football.

If the clubs in the Premiership are honest, they will be delighted as well.

For the teams in the lower leagues, they have gained so much from having Rangers in with them in the last few seasons.

They have had big gates with the Rangers fans travelling down, the towns have benefitted and made a few quid when Rangers have come to town. Rangers have done well for the clubs in those divisions.

The only clubs that have missed out are the ones in the Premiership and they will be delighted to see Rangers back from next season.

It has looked for so long like we would go on and win the title and now we are on the brink of getting over the line either tomorrow afternoon or Tuesday evening.

From the manager’s point of view, he will just want to win it at the first opportunity.

Yes, it would be nice to do it in front of thousands of fans at Ibrox but you can’t be choosy about when you win titles.

There will be a big travelling support through in Kirkcaldy but the people who can’t get to the game will be hoping that it goes on to Tuesday night at home to Dumbarton. There will be a full house there and it would be lovely to win the league there.

But, there will be celebrations on Saturday if it is won there. Of course, we have still got to win the game and that is the only focus for Mark and the players.

The quicker you win a league, the better. But it wouldn’t be a disaster if it didn’t go well on Saturday and we won the game and could then win the league next week.

A lot of people would prefer it was done and dusted at Ibrox but Saturday is the first opportunity we have.

All Rangers can do is go out and win the game and then it depends what happens in Paisley. Should we win it this weekend, it will be a fantastic day and then there will be a celebration at Ibrox.

Rangers have been the best team in the league, the most consistent team in the league and the players and the manager deserve a lot of credit for what they have done this season.

I have heard a few people saying recently that Hibs have thrown it away and handed Rangers the title because they have struggled recently. What a load of utter nonsense.

If they weren’t good enough to win their games, that is their problem. All Rangers can do is win their games, and they have.

To say that Hibs have gift wrapped the Championship is rubbish. They haven’t been good enough and Rangers have been, so they will win the league.

They have won more games than anyone, lost fewer games than anyone and scored more goals than anyone. They are deserved and worthy champions.

We have improved so much since the first day back in the Third Division and we are in good shape going back into the Premiership.

Now Rangers fans can enjoy the moment when it comes and look forward to the rest of the campaign.
