The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have issued an update following a collision on a busy road today.

We previously reported that two vehicles had collided on the A737 in Johnstone at around 12.37pm. 

Scottish Fire and Rescue have now confirmed that two trucks were dispatched to the scene and two casualties were assessed by the Scottish Ambulance Service. 

SFRS left after the scene was made safe. 

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to assist emergency service partners at 12.37pm on Friday, February 16, to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars on A737 in Johnstone.

“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances to the scene, where firefighters worked to make the area safe before leaving the scene.

“Two casualties were assessed by the Scottish Ambulance Service.”

Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service were both contacted for comment.
