While Storm Babet batters the rest of Scotland, Glasgow's weather is looking more optimistic.

Strong winds will be blowing through the streets on Friday but are expected to ease up slightly over Saturday and Sunday.

A yellow flood warning is in effect for West Central Scotland which includes the eastern outskirts of Glasgow from Bellshill.

Possible impacts include flooding affecting communities, danger to life and damage to buildings, and disruption to infrastructure.

The weather this weekend is expected to get drier and brighter after some rain on Friday and Saturday morning.

 

Friday, October 20

 

Rain is expected throughout the day with a high of 10 degrees and a low of seven degrees.

Around 2mm of rain is expected in the next 24 hours. 

Wind speeds between 14 and 23 miles per hour with gusts of up to 46 miles per hour.

 

Saturday, October 21

 

Temperatures on Saturday will hit a low of seven degrees and a high of nine degrees.

Wind speeds will be between seven and 17 miles per hour with gusts of up to 34 miles per hour.

Total rainfall will be around 2mm with dry cloudy spells predicted from the afternoon.

 

Sunday, October 22

 

The sun is expected to come out on Sunday afternoon with temperatures reaching a high of 12 degrees and low of seven degrees.

Wind speeds will be between four and 12 miles per hour with gusts of up to 24 miles per hour.
