Additional casting for Burlesque the Musical, the first-ever stage adaptation of the Christina Aguilera film, has been announced by the Theatre Royal Glasgow.
Nina Ann Nelson, actor and member of the American pop band Citizen Queen will Nikki and with Ali Rose as the alternate. While Joe Atkinson, Jade Albertsen, Callum Aylott, Evonnee Bentley-Holder, Elly Jay, Stefan Lagoulis, Callum MacDonald, Tom Mussell, Ian Oswald, and Tom Scanlon have also joined the casting.
The much-anticipated musical will run from September 11 to 28 before moving to West End.
Based on the hit movie, the musical is a tale of self-discovery with songs by Christina Aguilera, Sia, Diane Warren, Todrick Hall, and Jess Folley.
It is written by Steven Antin, directed and choreographed by Nick Winston, and features additional material by Kate Wetherhead.
The creative powerhouse behind the show also includes Soutra Gilmour as the set designer, Ryan Dawson Laight curating costume design, and Phil Bateman as the musical supervisor.
