TWO people have been charged after porridge and jam was poured on a bust of Queen Victoria. 

The incident happened shortly before midday at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum on Sunday, March 4. 

The word c*** was also allegedly spray-painted onto the plinth and two women reportedly glued themselves to the plinth.

This Is Rigged has claimed members of the group carried out the act to protest against increasing food insecurity.

Two women, aged 30 and 23, have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. 

They are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11.55am on Sunday, March 3, police were called to a report of a protest and alleged vandalism within Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Kelvingrove Park, Glasgow.

"Two women, aged 23 and 30, have been arrested and charged following the incident. 

"They have been released on an undertaking to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date. 

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
