A former adviser to Lord Provosts in Glasgow has received an honour from the King.
Catriona Innes was awarded the Royal Victorian Order (MVO) for “extraordinary, important or personal services to the Sovereign or to the Royal Family”.
In a 32-year career, she worked in the Lord Provost and International Office at Glasgow City Council.
After receiving the honour at Holyrood Palace, she said: “It was an honour to be presented by His Majesty King Charles III and lovely to meet with people from Holyrood Palace I’ve worked with, in one of the best jobs in Glasgow, over the last 30 years.”
The honour is bestowed directly at the discretion of the monarch and not on the advice of the Prime Minister.
In her role as adviser to the Lord Provost and clerk to the Lord Lieutenancy her duties included supervising the city's royal, civic, and international engagements.
Catriona retired in May 2022 and was nominated for an honour by a number of former Lord Provosts who she worked for.
