ONE Direction had 12,000 fans screaming at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow and there was plenty of shrieking when Harry Styles tried to put on a Scottish accent.
After what sounded like a "how are ye" he soon announces he is not going to try any more than that or he might have to "ban it myself".
Those who might have winced could have forgiven him when the Cheshire-born singer went on say: "Do we have anyone from Scotland? Some people say, the best country in the world. "That's what I hear, usually in Scotland, but that doesn't matter. I think it is, the best country in the world."
The band - Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson - landed at a private airfield beside Glasgow airport ahead of their two sell out gigs. The final Glasgow instalment from the band created and made famous through Simon Cowell's X Factor series takes place at the Hydro on Thursday night.
