A popular Indian restaurant in Glasgow has received a prestigious award.
Namaste, located in St Enoch Shopping Centre, has been awarded the highest accolade at the 2023 Great Taste Awards for a warming Indian tea.
Grandad’s Masala Chai received a three-star ranking at this year’s awards.
The eatery has been serving the warm, sweet milk infused with a blend of aromatic cinnamon, fiery ginger, cloves and woody chicory root since 2021.
Rashpal Singh, CEO of Namaste by Delhi Darbar, said of the award: “It is an honour to be awarded 3 stars for our Masala Chai at the Great Taste Awards.
"Namaste by Delhi Darbar is a small family business that has sought to delight and impress with our bold flavours and delicious food combinations.
"This award is a validation of our efforts to create an authentic, warming Masala Chai evocative of my Grandfather’s upbringing in Old Delhi.”
Anne Ledgerwood, St. Enoch Centre director, applauded the award: “This is a fantastic achievement for Namaste by Delhi Darbar and speaks to the quality and authenticity of their menu.
"We encourage everyone to stop by to taste the award-winning Grandad’s Masala Chai – perfect even on a Scottish summer’s day!”
